ETS BAJA RACE CAR BODY REDESIGN

Redesigning the Baja race car to transcend mere mechanics

Give it a face, infuse it with personality and breathe life into its soul.

Inspiration

Within the vast tapestry of automotive aesthetics, the previous Baja car design, though competent, lacked a soulful reflection of the club's ethos and the passions of its members. My endeavor was not merely about reshaping metal but sculpting an identity, a living persona. The design lexicon was heavily influenced by the titans of the '80s and '90s rally epochs, drawing reverence from legends like the Audi Quattro, the Lancia Delta Integrale, and the visceral BMW E30. Furthermore, a nod to the illustrious JDM heritage, especially the fierce stance of the Nissan Skyline GT-R, was indispensable. Our ambition was to channel the raw, predatory aura of a beast on the prowl, where every line and contour speaks of intent and aggression.

PRODUCTION

The chassis of the Baja race car is meticulously constructed from thermoformed Polyethylene panels. These panels are securely fastened together with semi-permanent rivets, ensuring a robust and enduring assembly tailored for the rigors of off-road racing.
